That the Faroe Islands have so much to offer! Our 5 day adventure was filled with an abundance of things to see and do, with an amazing cuisine to discover. So that’s where we got started. And we created an awesome video to showcase it all!
We went on the world’s cheapest helicopter ride. We hiked. We ate world famous Salmon… fun fact: did you know the Faroe Islands is one of the biggest salmon exporters in the world?
But there’s more! We visited medieval villages which date back to the 11th century, one of which is Mykines, the home to a diverse range of wildlife and seabirds – most famously puffins. In Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, we strolled through local boutiques that make up the main shopping strip and is home to the Nordic House cultural centre which offers theatre, dance, and music performances.
We stayed in the Faroe Islands newest boutique hotel, Hotel Havgrím 1948, located on the seafront, and walking distance from the old part of Tórshavn. We were lucky enough to have the entire hotel to ourselves, and yes, you bet we made the most of our buffet breakfast! To give us the most authentic experience we organised the trip with a local tour-guide who took showed us all the sights and toured around by bus!
Sharing images with the hashtag ‘#FirstFlightFaroes’, the influencers promoted the Atlantic Airways’ popular route and also helped to inform people about the Faroe Islands. There are now over 100 posts on Instagram with #FirstFlightFaroes. This trip, and our influencers, helped Atlantic Airways put the Faroe Islands on the map for Spain.
